Terms and Conditions

Public Safety Training of South Jersey LLC

By completing the registration process, students agree to all the terms and conditions listed below. These terms are subject to change at the sole discretion of Public Safety Training of South Jersey LLC, with or without notice. By registering, students also agree to release Public Safety Training of South Jersey LLC from all liability for personal injury or property damage incurred while participating in any course, training, or related activity.

1. Registration & Payment

  • Course Reservation: No course is considered reserved until registration is completed through our online registration system, HOVN, and full payment is received.

  • Third-Party Registrations: Students who register via the American Heart Association website are not reserved a spot in the class until registration and payment are completed through our system, HOVN.

2. Refund Policy

  • Refunds are granted only within 24 hours of initial registration and must be requested at least 12 hours prior to the course start time.

  • Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved only by the Training Site Coordinator. To apply for an exception, email your request and relevant details to info@pstsj.com

  • Refunds apply only to course fees. Activated digital products—such as eBooks, online courses, or HeartCode modules—are non-refundable and will be deducted from any eligible refund amount, regardless of who initiates the refund request.

3. Rescheduling Policy

  • In the event that payment is not complete at least 6 hours prior to the start of the course, please contact the training site to confirm the status of your registration and eligibility to attend.

  • Students may request to reschedule once within 60 days of the original course date for a $10 processing fee.

  • Rescheduling must be requested more than 12 hours before the scheduled start time.

  • Students enrolled in instructor-level courses must provide at least 7 days notice and pay a $100 processing fee to reschedule.

4. Attendance & Punctuality

  • Arrival: Students must arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled course time.

  • Late Arrival: Students who arrive 15 minutes after the start of the class will not be permitted to enter and will forfeit their registration fee.

  • No Call, No Show: Students who fail to notify us in advance of their absence or late arrival will be marked as a no-show. No refunds or credits will be given for no-shows.

  • Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved only by the Training Site Coordinator. To apply for an exception, email your request and relevant details to info@pstsj.com

5. Course Requirements & Student Conduct

  • Students must actively participate in all course components, including hands-on skills sessions and written assessments when applicable.

  • Students must complete the required skills and pass the written exam (if applicable), as outlined by American Heart Association guidelines, to be considered passing and eligible for certification.

  • Inappropriate, disruptive, or unsafe behavior will result in immediate dismissal from the course without a refund.

  • Students are expected to follow all instructor directions and safety protocols at all times to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.

6. Certification & eCards

  • Students who successfully complete the course will receive an American Heart Association eCard for the corresponding discipline.

  • eCards are typically issued the same business day, but may take up to (2) two full business days to process.

  • Students are responsible for providing a valid email address to receive their certification. Failure to do so may delay or prevent card issuance.

7. Electronic Materials & Intellectual Property

  • Activated digital products (e.g., HeartCode access, eBooks) are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Students are responsible for ensuring that their devices are compatible with electronic course materials prior to purchase.

  • All course content, materials, and media are the intellectual property of Public Safety Training of South Jersey LLC or the American Heart Association and may not be recorded, copied, or redistributed without written permission.

8. Health & Safety

  • Courses involve physical activity, including performing CPR on the floor. Students must be physically capable of completing all required skills.

  • Students should dress comfortably in professional attire and wear closed-toe shoes for safety and mobility during hands-on practice.

  • Students who are interpreted as wearing inappropriate attire will be dismissed from the course at the sole discretion of the instructor. No exceptions will be made.

  • Any medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect participation must be disclosed in advance so that reasonable accommodations can be discussed.

  • Students displaying symptoms of illness may be asked to leave and reschedule at the discretion of the instructor in order to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

9. Inclement Weather & Emergency Cancellations

  • Public Safety Training of South Jersey LLC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to inclement weather, emergencies, or instructor illness.

  • In such cases, students may transfer to another scheduled date at no additional cost.

  • We are not responsible for any associated travel or accommodation expenses.

10. Privacy & Communications

  • Student data collected during registration will be used solely for course administration and certification processing.

  • Information will not be sold or shared with third parties except as required by certifying bodies such as the AHA.

  • By registering, you consent to receive emails or messages regarding your course status, certification, and important updates.

11. Dispute Resolution

  • In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt an informal resolution before initiating any legal action.

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, and any legal proceedings must be filed in the appropriate court within Atlantic County, NJ.
