Particularly suitable for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units who regularly encounter pediatric patients in high-acuity situations.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.
This course is designed for healthcare providers with a currently active PALS certification who need to renew and extend their certification for another 2 years. It's ideal for experienced professionals who regularly encounter pediatric emergencies, including pediatric intensive care unit staff, emergency department personnel, and EMS providers who frequently treat infants and children. The update course reinforces key PALS concepts and introduces any new guidelines or practices in pediatric advanced life support since the participant's last certification.
