This instructor training course is designed for healthcare professionals who want to teach American Red Cross BLS courses. Candidates must hold a current Red Cross BLS provider certification or equivalent. Through a combination of online learning and in-person skills sessions, this course prepares experienced healthcare providers to become effective BLS instructors in clinical and educational settings.
The American Red Cross Basic Life Support Instructor course prepares qualified healthcare professionals to teach BLS certification courses. Participants complete comprehensive online content covering advanced teaching methodologies and course delivery techniques, followed by in-person classroom sessions for hands-on practice. The course covers instructional planning, classroom management, skills session facilitation, and proper evaluation techniques for healthcare provider-level courses. Instructor candidates learn to effectively teach high-quality CPR, AED use, ventilation techniques, and team dynamics while meeting Red Cross standards. Successful completion qualifies instructors to teach Red Cross BLS courses to healthcare professionals.
