Instructor Development Course (IDC)
The HSI Instructor Development Course trains individuals to become certified instructors in CPR, AED, and First Aid. The course includes an online learning module followed by a one-day, in-person classroom session. Participants must be at least 17 years old and hold current provider certification in adult, child, and infant CPR, AED, and First Aid. Successful completion authorizes individuals to conduct HSI training courses and issue certification cards.
The HSI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is tailored for those aiming to teach CPR, AED, and First Aid. The program begins with an online learning session to develop cognitive understanding, followed by a single-day, in-person classroom session to practice instructional skills. This blended approach ensures that instructor candidates are well-prepared to deliver effective training. To enroll, candidates must be at least 17 years old and possess current provider certification or demonstrate competency in adult, child, and infant CPR, AED, and First Aid. Upon successful completion of the IDC, candidates must affiliate with an approved Training Center or establish their own to conduct HSI training courses and issue certification cards.
This course results in Instructor Development Certification.
