Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Blended Learning

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Blended Learning Course trains healthcare providers in neonatal resuscitation skills. This course includes an online learning module followed by an in-person, instructor-led skills session focused on newborn assessment, airway management, and advanced resuscitation techniques. Participants select either the Essentials or Advanced curriculum based on their role. Certification is issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is valid for two years.

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Blended Learning Course is designed for healthcare providers involved in newborn care and resuscitation. This course follows guidelines established by the American Academy of Pediatrics and consists of two parts. The online learning module provides self-paced instruction on neonatal resuscitation principles. Participants select one of two curriculum levels. The Essentials curriculum includes lessons one through four and is intended for those involved in routine neonatal care who may need to assist in resuscitation. The Advanced curriculum includes lessons one through eleven and is required for providers managing high-risk neonatal resuscitation beyond positive-pressure ventilation. Participants complete an adaptive learning assessment and must pass the online exam before attending the in-person session. The instructor-led skills session must be completed within ninety days of finishing the online module. During this hands-on event, participants demonstrate neonatal resuscitation techniques in skills stations, simulated scenarios, and team-based response exercises under instructor supervision. This course is required for labor and delivery staff, NICU personnel, emergency responders, and any healthcare provider responsible for neonatal resuscitation. Upon successful completion, participants receive NRP certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics, valid for two years.
